OUR
MINISTRIES
The Valentine Methodist Church is committed to bringing God's truth and the hope of Christ to a world that desperately needs it. At the VMC there are many ways to be involved and to have your spirit fed. Being God's hands and feet, bringing His Good News to the people, is something that every follower of Christ has been called to do. Every single person has natural and God-given talents. VMC gives you opportunities to use those gifts for His kingdom and glory!
There are many different ministry opportunities at the VMC.
Youth Ministry
At VMC we have opportunities for everyone! We have Sunday School for all ages during the school year, and a Jr. - Sr. High Youth Group. We also host "Elementary Logos", a community ministry for all children ages K-4th grade, from many backgrounds. At Logos there is music, games, food, fellowship, and of course the Bible!
In addition to that we also have "Ignite"! This is an opportunity for youth 5th grade to 12th grade to come together and go deeper in their understanding of Scripture and to gain a deeper relationship with Christ.

Discovery Weekend
Spend a weekend discovering God's love for YOU! Open to ANY 6th, 7th, and 8th grade! Adult and high school youth are encouraged to volunteer! DW is typically held the last weekend in October.
Marriage Preparation and Longevity
Pastor Jake and his wife, Andrea, work with couples in all stages of their relationship. They offer premarital and marital counseling. Premarital and marital counseling is not just for struggling couples, it is a way to create and maintain a healthy relationship that honors God and each other. We also encourage and support couples to participate in the Men's and Women's Encounter, Men's and Women's Walk to Emmaus, and the Love and Respect Weekend, ministries.
Men's Ministry
Men's ministry is an important part of the life of the church. At VMC we have an active men's group that meets in the morning on Tuesday's where we open up God's Word, pray for each other, and challenge each other to live a godly life. Come and join the VMC Men's Group! The VMC Men are also heavily involved in the Men's Walk to Emmaus and Nebraska Men's Encounter ministries.

Women's Ministry
The VMC has several opportunities for women to get plugged in to the life of the church. Our Valentine Methodist Women's group raises funds for local and international missions as well as sending kids to camp. They host several events throughout the year including the Mother Daughter Banquet, the Ice Cream Social, and the annual Salad Supper. We also participate in Women's Walk to Emmaus, a spiritual retreat weekend that grounds us in fellowship and faith, as well as Women's Encounter which is a powerful and life-changing experience for women regardless of where they are at in their walk with Jesus. The VMC Women are also heavily involved in the Women's Walk to Emmaus and Nebraska Women's Encounter ministries.
Pastoral Support
Pastor Jake is involved in visitation ministry, nursing home ministry, and grief ministry. The VMC also has a "Congregational Care Team" who make sure that the physical, and spiritual needs of the congregation are being met by sending letters, meals, or visiting those in need.
Volunteer Groups
There are always opportunities to volunteer at VMC. Whether that is helping in the kitchen, leading classes, serving in worship, or taking it to the streets, there is a place here for you to make a difference. We offer a spiritual gift test a couple of times a year and then find ways for you to invest those gifts into the kingdom of God through the church. This is where we come to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Local and International Missions
We have a dedicated group of adults and youth who participate in local and international missions. Whether helping the North Central Community Action distribute food to local people or meeting the needs of the Peruvian people while giving them the Gospel, our Spirit-filled teams are being the hands and feet of Christ!
